It's often said that if "life gives you lemons, make lemonade". But what if you never receive the lemons, what if you have no pitcher, no sugar or water? My specialty is Trauma-informed care where I assist in helping to manage anger, self-injurious behaviors, anxiety and depression associated with negative experiences that life throws your way. I will work with you to recognize your trauma symptoms and help you to strategize and obtain the tools necessary to improve those symptoms. I am an advocate for clients with limited resources and tools to be successful in life and will help to identify treatment goals and work with you to overcome barriers to achieving those goals. We all need a little help sometimes when we feel as though we have fallen. Let's work together to find clarity and build resilience to overcome life's hurdles.
During the initial session, clients can expect to identify goals and objectives to obtain those goals. Each objective will be specific to clients and built with the intent for clients to complete these objectives within their home or community environment so that we can track your progress together while building self-efficacy.
My primary treatment methods are cognitive based but I often integrate additional methods to better meet client needs as everyone's needs are different.
I've often been told by clients that my passion shows as I have a non-biased approach and I care for everyone's overall well-being. This has been evident as I have been able to reach those in severe crisis and encourage overall behavioral change through consistency and meeting each client where they are.
