Daniel Mango

LCSW (he/him)8 years of experience

Hi, my name is Daniel Mango. I'm a licensed clinical social worker providing individual therapy through an integrative approach. Take a moment to acknowledge that you've taken the first step toward bettering your mental health — starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even a little scary, sometimes all at once. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, often alongside questions of identity, cultural belonging, or generational stress. I bring a warm, collaborative approach — drawing on CBT, DBT, and solution-focused strategies — to help you build practical tools while also making sense of the bigger picture of what you're carrying. Therapy can meet you wherever you're seeking growth, whether that's steadier days, clearer relationships, or simply feeling more like yourself. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready.

First session

In our first session, there's no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you're ready to. We'll spend the time getting to know each other — what brought you in, what's been hard lately, and what you're hoping is different down the road. By the end, you'll walk away with a clearer sense of what's going on and a plan for how we'll work together, at a pace that actually fits you.

Strengths

I bring range to every session — experience across crisis care, outpatient therapy, and work with both youth and adults means I don't approach every person with the same script. I meet you where you actually are, not where a single method assumes you should be. I also draw on multiple approaches (CBT, DBT, solution-focused strategies) and adapt them in real time, rather than forcing every issue into one framework. And because I bring a culturally responsive lens to my work, clients don't have to spend our sessions explaining context I already understand — we can get straight to what matters.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone dealing with anxiety, depression, or mood struggles, and who's ready to do the work even if they're not sure where to start. Often this is someone navigating identity, cultural belonging, or generational stress alongside their symptoms — including Black clients who want a therapist who already understands that context. They don't need to have it all figured out; they just need to be willing to show up and be honest. My goal with every client is the same: help them suffer less and move closer to the life they actually want.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors reinforce each other, and build practical tools to interrupt the patterns that keep you stuck.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

For clients dealing with intense emotions or difficulty regulating them, I draw on DBT skills — distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness — to build a toolkit you can actually use in the moment.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

Rather than dwelling only on what's wrong, we focus on what's already working and build toward concrete, achievable goals — useful when you want traction fast, not just insight.
