Hello! All persons and abilities are welcomed here! I am so glad you have taken the first steps in bettering your mental health and taking time to prioritize yourself. I know therapy can be scary - but I am here to help you feel safe. I am a master's level, licensed clinical social worker in the state of Indiana. I have eight years of experience as a behavioral clinician specializing in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and their family unit. Within this experience, I have also helped people overcome trauma and parenting challenges.
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and walking through some of the challenges you are currently facing. Together, we will discuss your expectations for therapy and create a plan for upcoming sessions.
Over my years as a professional, I have created an environment for people I support to be themselves, feel safe, and take action toward mental health. I have an innate ability to see people beyond their diagnosis and meet you with a sense of acknowledgment for your struggles.
I have several years of experience in trauma work, including abuse in childhood and adulthood, exploitation, and domestic violence. I have a passion to bridge the gap in mental health services available to people with disabilities. Your diagnoses of Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, etc., does not discount your need for support through anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationships. Let's work together in overcoming your mental health barriers to happy and fulfilling life. Ensuring you have someone in your corner that understands you is important.
