I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 21 years of experience helping adults navigate relationship concerns, attachment patterns, major life transitions, trauma, identity, spirituality, and questions of meaning and purpose. I especially enjoy working with adults in midlife and later life who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped who they are. I also have experience supporting adult adoptees and LGBTQ+ clients and provide and affirming space for clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based treatment. I am trained in EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy, and I believe therapy should provide more than a place to talk, it should help you understand yourself, heal from painful experiences, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. My own diverse life and professional experiences have taught me that people are more than a diagnosis or a single part of their identity. I approach each client with curiosity, respect, humor, and an appreciation for the experiences that have shaped who they are.
In our first session, I will take time to understand what brings you to therapy, what is most important to you, and what you hope to change. You can expect a warm, judgment-free space where you will be seen, heard, and respected. Together, we will begin identifying your concerns, strengths, and goals and develop a direction for therapy that fits your individual needs.
My greatest strength is listening to understand. I create a warm, safe, and judgment-free space where clients can be authentic while also feeling appropriately challenged to grow. I help clients recognize patterns, understand the experiences that shaped them, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I bring curiosity, compassion, extensive clinical experience, and a genuine sense of humor into the therapeutic relationship.
I especially enjoy working with thoughtful, reflective adults in midlife and later life who want to better understand themselves and their relationships. You may be navigating relationship changes, loneliness, grief and loss, retirement or career transitions, or questions about identity, spirituality, meaning, and purpose. You may also recognize longstanding patterns in your relationships and wonder how earlier experiences continue to shape your life today. I provide a warm, judgment-free space where you can talk openly about experiences you may not feel comfortable discussing elsewhere. Together, we can approach these patterns with curiosity and compassion, strengthen your relationship with yourself and others, and help you determine what feels authentic and meaningful in the next chapter of your life.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. I provide a warm, respectful, and judgment-free space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. Rather than telling you what you should do, I listen carefully, help you explore your thoughts and feelings, identify your strengths, and support you in finding solutions and making changes that feel meaningful to you.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify patterns, including self-judgment and beliefs shaped by earlier experiences that may be affecting your relationships and well-being. We work toward developing more flexible ways of thinking, responding to challenges with greater self-awareness, and making meaningful changes that align with your values and goals.
I use attachment-based therapy to help you understand how early relationships and life experiences may influence the way you relate to yourself and others today. Together, we explore recurring relationship patterns, unmet emotional needs, and ways you may have learned to protect yourself. With curiosity and compassion rather than judgment, we work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and more secure and authentic connections.

Lol, it was frustrating to only be able to choose two qualities that I appreciate about Lois. I could readily choose the others as well: open minded, holistic, humorous, intelligent, empowering, challenging, and direct yet warm. Pretty much just what I'm needing with my current concerns.
