Hello, I’m Violet, a licensed therapist with 12 years of experience helping individuals to find hope and healing to overcome all of life’s challenges. I specialize in working with anxiety and trauma, infertility, new parents, women's struggles and pregnancy/postpartum concerns. I also have experience and a heart for working with parents of special needs children. Whether it be grief, loss, life changes and transitions, anxiety or trauma, relationship concerns, parenting struggles or family conflict, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
Each session, you can expect a warm and supportive environment where you are able to decide the focus of the session. We will spend time exploring and processing your concerns, while also developing helpful skills to calm your body and mind. These skills will help you to feel more in control of your thoughts and feelings, and better able to cope with life's challenges outside of therapy.
Over the past twelve years, I have helped individuals to reach their goals and develop useful skills to better manage their thoughts, feelings and actions. I do so with an abundance of empathy and compassion for each person’s unique struggle.
I love working with and supporting women who are navigating different phases of life and the associated challenges. Those challenges may include: relationships with friends, difficulty with partners, boundaries with family, career and school insecurities or stress, grief and loss, or infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and new parenthood.
EMDR is a highly effective treatment method for trauma, anxiety, panic disorder and many other concerns. Many individual prefer EMDR for its effectiveness and faster progress toward goals. I often see individuals who have been in traditional talk therapy but have made little progress; with EMDR they feel better faster and make more progress toward their goals.
As a person-centered therapist, I start where you are and work collaboratively with you in therapy. This means that you are behind the drivers seat and are always included in therapeutic decisions and treatment planning.
I believe we all have inherent strengths that can help us overcome life’s challenges. I work with you in therapy to uncover these internal strengths and use them to make progress toward your individual goals.
I am trained in the treatment of acute and chronic trauma. I view things through a trauma informed lens and consider how trauma affects the brain and body's functioning.
CBT will help you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
