(she/her)
Hello there. My name is Tina and I've been practicing therapy for over 10 years. I am dedicated to helping individuals struggling with past trauma live happier, more fulfilling lives. Making the choice to talk to someone about what you've experienced is deeply personal work. I understand and celebrate you for the courage it took for you to get here.
During our initial session, we'll start with brief introductions. Following that, we'll complete an assessment to help me understand the challenges that led you to therapy. This will help us create a plan to address the issues you want to work on in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with youth and adults for years, I've dedicated my practice to applying one of the most effective therapeutic techniques to help folks heal from trauma. I've witnessed time after time how trust, connection and quality trauma work can relieve years of suffering. I look forward to helping you when you are ready.
I am passionate about working with folks who have decided they have endured enough and are ready to work through past trauma. My clients recognize that their past trauma prevents them from living a full and happy life, and while they are ready for a change, they also fear beginning their healing journey alone. They often experience depression, anxiety, emotional reactivity, low self-esteem, low self-worth, and limiting beliefs that block their potential to enjoy life and maintain meaningful relationships.
As my primary specialty, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other challenging symptoms caused by trauma. I'll first work with you to identify and reinforce your inner strengths. Not only does this build resilience for healing from trauma in treatment but it also supports you with navigating future challenges more effectively. Once internal resources are reinforced, we use bilateral stimulation (via eye movements or tapping) to reprocess and desensitize specific traumatic memories. This process allows you to experience memories of past traumas with significantly less intensity and improve emotional regulation.
I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help you become more non-judgmentally aware of your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations in the present moment to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall mental well-being. I'll teach you how to observe their thoughts and feelings without becoming overwhelmed by them so you can respond in healthier ways to life's challenges.
Person-Centered Therapy is therapy centered around going at your pace and me showing up with genuine understanding, acceptance, and a deep belief in your ability to heal and thrive. You're the expert on your own life. I use this approach to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My focus is to offer you a warm, understanding, and non-judgmental environment to hear what you're saying, and also what you might not be saying directly.
Humanistic Therapy focuses on you as a whole person and the belief that you have incredible potential for growth, self-healing, and achieving your full potential. I use this approach to focus on your unique strengths, positive qualities, and what makes you, you. I use this therapy to support you with listening to your own inner voice, exploring what gives your life meaning, your values and what truly matters to you so you can live in a way that feels true to your deepest self.
