My name is Kanika Shelly, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. I am the founder of Jamaa Healing Collective Wellness Services; I have a collaborative and integrationist approach to therapy. I employ various methods to facilitate healing, including treatment, trauma-focused family integration, holistic treatments, and strength-based approaches. I have over ten years of experience as an Associate and Therapist and am licensed to practice in California. I am passionate about helping families thrive. I believe in working from a strength-based perspective and encouraging individuals to see themselves as perfect, whole, and complete beings within the context of their family. Healthy families create healthy individuals who produce healthy connections and ultimately heal global communities. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the initial sessions, I thoroughly assess your perspective to gain a deep understanding of your perception of the world and how you apply it to your relationships. This includes creating a comprehensive family map. In the subsequent sessions, we will meticulously map out your goals and the precise steps required to achieve them. As we delve into your experiences, we will collaboratively develop effective coping strategies to help you ground and regulate yourself.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am deeply passionate about helping families, couples, and young adults( 19-24 years old) build and maintain healthy and fulfilling relationships with others. My area of specialization lies in working with families and couples looking to strengthen their bond, particularly those dealing with the complexities of blended families and co-parenting. I understand that building a strong family unit can be a challenging and emotional process, and I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for families and couples to work through their issues and improve their relationships. In addition to my work with families and couples, I also provide support to young adults aged 19-24 years old who are navigating the challenges of early adulthood and building their own families. As a young adult, I am passionate about helping others in this age group establish their independence, develop meaningful connections with others, and navigate the challenges of starting a new phase of life. Whether you are struggling to build a strong family unit, looking to improve your relationship with your partner, or seeking support as a young adult, I am here to help. With my expertise and empathic approach, I am confident we can work together to help you achieve your goals and build the fulfilling relationships you deserve.
