Hi there! :) My name is Rebecca, and I work with adults of all ages who experience or have experienced trauma, relational conflict, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, and identity issues. I feel honored to be a part of each and every one of my clients' journeys towards healing. I am committed to facilitating a non-judgmental warm, and equal space in therapy. I believe in the power of a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, supportive, and authentic. I approach therapy from a holistic lens, striving to understand and respect my clients' unique background, cultural context, and belief system. I utilize a myriad of approaches to meet the needs of my clients, including Mindful Self-Compassion, DBT, and relational cultural therapy. I seek to facilitate a non-judgmental, warm, and equal space in therapy. If you are here reading my page today, I hope you know that I am proud of you for taking the first step by looking for a therapist who is right for you. I would love to chat and learn about what you are going through and how I may be able to help. Feel free to reach out via email to schedule with me.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

New clients can expect a conversational style intake session where I ask questions about the clients to better understand why they are seeking therapy and how I may be able to help. I strive to be non-judgmental, warm, and empathetic with all of my clients. I also offer space for clients to ask me any questions they may have for me as a potential new therapist.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that I am warm and easy to talk to, which allows clients to feel safe to open up and build rapport with me. I am authentic, collaborative, and supportive. I offer clients a balance of empathy and understanding as well as challenge and encourage. I care about my clients' goals and well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My dream client is a young adult who is navigating life transitions and exploring who they are, who they want to be, and what they value. My dream client is seeking to work toward the goals that help them feel more aligned in who they are. My dream client is yearning to know how to better navigate their emotions and their relationships. My dream client is looking to talk openly about what they are seeking from therapy.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

When relevant, I incorporate psychoeducation surrounding the impact our caregivers can have on the way we form attachments to other humans in adulthood. Understanding attachment styles can empower individuals to recognize their patterns of behavior in relationships which then can allow them to be intentional and decide if they want to show up differently in their relationships.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have co-facilitated DBT groups in the past. I incorporate elements of DBT into my therapeutic practice with almost all of my clients because the skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication are important skills that everyone can strengthen. Helping clients learn and practice these skills is another way that I incorporate DBT in my practice.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I refer to Mindful Self-Compassion as my bread and butter; mindfulness and self-compassion are woven into the framework of my approach to therapy. I incorporate mindful self-compassion in some form or fashion with all of my clients, because mindful self-compassion allows individuals to transform their relationship with themselves and subsequently, the world around them when they allow themselves to feel without judgment and be gentle with themselves as human beings. I often review chapters of the Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook with clients to help them learn tangible ways of incorporating this practice into their everyday lives.
