Marie Volcy
Hello, I'm Marie Volcy, APRN, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and client-centered mental health care tailored to each individual's unique needs. At Cephas Mental Wellness, I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management through both in-person and secure telehealth appointments, helping adolescents and adults achieve lasting emotional wellness and improve their quality of life.
First session
During your first appointment, we'll take time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to treatment. I'll ask about your current concerns, medical and mental health history, medications, lifestyle, and personal goals so I can gain a complete understanding of your needs. This comprehensive psychiatric evaluation helps us develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, and recommendations for additional resources when appropriate. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.
Strengths
I bring a compassionate, empathetic, and collaborative approach to every session. I believe that each person's experiences, challenges, and goals are unique, so I take the time to listen carefully, build trust, and develop treatment plans tailored to the individual. My practice combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic perspective, recognizing the connection between mental, emotional, and physical well-being. What sets my approach apart is my commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate in their treatment. I focus on building meaningful therapeutic relationships while providing thoughtful medication management and psychoeducation that help clients develop practical skills and achieve lasting, sustainable improvements in their mental health.
Ideal clients
I work best with adolescents and adults who are seeking compassionate, evidence-based support for their mental health. My ideal clients may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, OCD, panic attacks, insomnia, or other emotional and behavioral challenges that are affecting their daily lives, relationships, work, or overall well-being. Many of the individuals I serve are motivated to better understand their mental health, develop healthy coping strategies, and improve their quality of life. Whether someone is seeking a diagnostic evaluation, medication management, or ongoing support, I strive to provide personalized care that respects each person's unique experiences, values, and goals. Together, we create a collaborative treatment plan that promotes healing, resilience, and long-term emotional wellness.
Treatment methods
Supportive
Supportive therapy is a collaborative, client-centered approach that focuses on helping individuals manage current challenges, strengthen coping skills, and improve overall emotional well-being. In my practice, I use supportive therapy alongside evidence-based psychiatric care and medication management to provide encouragement, education, and practical strategies tailored to each client's unique needs. During sessions, I help clients identify stressors, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping techniques, and build resilience while working toward their treatment goals. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
