Faith Watkins
Hello, I’m Faith A. Watkins. I’ve been a therapist for 20 years, supporting clients from all walks of life through life’s challenges and transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), weaving them into a trauma-informed approach that meets you where you are.
With a trauma-informed lens, I integrate DBT and CBT with faith-based principles (when desired), helping clients find emotional healing.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to build resilience, navigate difficulties, and create meaningful change in your life.
First session
During your first session with me, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask about your history, current challenges, goals, and what you hope to achieve in counseling. This session is a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to share your experiences at your own pace. We’ll also discuss your strengths and resources, as well as strategies that have or haven’t worked for you in the past. Together, we’ll explore which therapeutic approaches—CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, or a combination—might best support your needs. By the end of the first session, you can expect a clearer understanding of the therapy process, initial coping strategies to try between sessions, and a collaborative plan moving forward. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and empowered to take the next steps toward your personal growth and well-being.
Strengths
I offer a warm, compassionate space where your story is honored and your growth is supported—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. With a trauma-informed lens, I integrate DBT and CBT with faith-based principles (when desired), helping clients find emotional healing. Whether you're wrestling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, or major life transitions or stressors, I will walk with you through the hard places with empathy, wisdom, and hope. I will meet you where you are—with acceptance and the belief that transformation is possible.
Ideal clients
I work best with clients who are ready to engage in self-reflection and are motivated to create meaningful change in their lives. My ideal clients may be experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or difficulties with emotional regulation. I also work with individuals navigating major life transitions, grief, or the complexities of family dynamics. Clients who benefit most from my approach are open to exploring thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior, and are willing to actively participate in developing practical coping strategies. Whether your goal is to improve relationships, build resilience, manage difficult emotions, or create a life aligned with your values, I am here to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based tools tailored to your unique needs.
