Jeannette Copeland

LPCC (she/her)13 years of experience

Hello, I’m Jeannette. With 13 years of experience as a licensed counselor, I provide a warm, supportive space where you can safely navigate life’s challenges and build a life that truly aligns with your values. Having lived in California, Missouri, and Nevada, I bring a broad, compassionate perspective to my practice. Whatever you are facing right now, please know that you do not have to carry it alone. I am here to offer the courage, guidance, and practical skills you need to heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, or relationship and parenting struggles. Together, we can work toward lasting healing.

First session

Our first session together will feel like a comfortable, intentional conversation. It will be structured but feel relaxed and entirely focused on you. We will start by talking about what brings you into therapy right now, exploring your needs, relationship patterns and emotional struggles. Together, we will begin looking at how these challenges connect to your personal history. I will ask a few gentle questions about your early relationships and important life experiences. We do this not to dig for drama, but to understand the blueprint you are operating from. My goal is never to overwhelm you. I am here to help you feel deeply seen, truly understood, and a bit clearer about what is happening beneath the surface. You will never be judged, and you will never be blamed. You also won't just vent without direction. My hope is that you will leave our very first hour with fresh insight, the right language to describe your patterns, and a clear sense of the path ahead. Most clients tell me they feel an immense sense of relief after our first session—like things finally make sense.

Strengths

My counseling practice is built on the belief that everyone is completely unique, meaning a one-size-fits-all model never works. I work with everyone based on their preferences. I do use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative therapy. But you, as my client, determine your treatment path.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready and willing to explore their thoughts, behaviors, and inner patterns, even when that process feels uncomfortable or challenging. You don't need to have all the answers - or even know exactly where to start, but you bring a genuine curiosity about yourself and a willingness to look closely at the choices and habits that shape your life. I view therapy as a deeply collaborative, joint effort. In our sessions, I will never offer direct advice, tell you what to do, or attempt to "fix" your life for you; instead, I act as a guide, providing a supportive, structured framework to help you navigate your world. You are the expert on your own life, and the most meaningful transformation happens when you take ownership of the daily work outside of our sessions. If you are looking for a true partner in your personal growth and are ready to actively engage in your own healing process, we will be an excellent fit.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

1st of all there is no one size fits all for therapy. However, I do like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) . CBT is a common tool that is used in counseling. It helps keep track of moods, thoughts, and how you react. Once you notice patterns, it can help you change how you feel and act by learning to notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is an approach focused on changing your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings so you can live a meaningful life. ACT allows you to acknowledge the negative thoughts but allows you to change how your react/respond to these thoughts.

Narrative

Because you are the expert in your own life, Narrative Therapy, allows you to tell your story and the experiences that you have had that have impacting how you think and feel. Narrative Therapy also helps you rewrite your story, allowing for growth and change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With person centered/humanistic therapy, you are the expert on your own life. When working with me, you act as the guide. You define the direction, select the goals, and decide which strengths to focus on. My role is to provide the structured framework, exercises, support based on your needs.
