Jessica Morales
Hi, My name is Jessica and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that specializing in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and past trauma. I have provided therapy services to adolescents, transition-age youth, and adults for the past 5 years with a majority of my career dedicated to working with adolescents. I aim to create a safe, supportive therapeutic space where we can build trust and transparency. I work collaboratively with clients, meeting them where they are and helping them identify meaningful and realistic goals.I also work with clients to recognize their strengths and use them to move toward their goals. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to each client's needs. Together, we work on building coping skills, processing experiences, and supporting personal growth.
First session
In our first session, I will spend time getting to know you, your background/history, and what has brought you to therapy. I focus on building trust, creating a safe space, and developing a supportive working relationship. We will also start to identify goals for your treatment. I will also answer any questions you have around the therapy process and your expectations for treatment.
Strengths
I am bilingual (English and Spanish) and have extensive experience working with adolescents, including teens dealing with anxiety, depression, and maladaptive coping strategies such as self-harm and suicidal ideation. I take a collaborative and straightforward approach, working with clients to identify their goals and move toward meaningful change. I prioritize building rapport and creating an open, transparent, and supportive space.
Ideal clients
The majority of my career has been dedicated to working with adolescents (ages 12-18) navigating anxiety, depression, and past trauma. I have also worked with transition-aged youth and adults that are navigating similar experiences. I strive to work collaboratively with clients to set goals that feel meaningful and achievable. I also work alongside clients to find practical ways to move toward their goals.
Treatment methods
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions and navigating challenges. Together we focus on strengthening mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support you in finding balance, improving relationships, and responding to situations in healthier and more effective ways.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we work to identify and reframe unhelpful thinking patterns to help difficult experiences feel more manageable and support healthier perspective. CBT can help improve emotional regulation, reduce avoidance, and strengthen problem solving skills. In addition to CBT, I have training in and experience with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space. My focus is on understanding your experiences and meeting you where you are. I aim to help you build self-awareness, strengthen self-acceptance, and feel more confident in your ability to navigate challenges and create meaningful change.
