Andrea V Saldivar
As a trauma therapist I explore culture and family history from an Indigenous perspective to take into account intergenerational wounds and spiritual beliefs that influence behavioral patterns. I’m a firm believer that the rise of substance abuse and mental illness is linked to unresolved past trauma, spiritual disconnection, and lack of community. My primary focus is to teach you how to empower your inner healer, so you may reconnect with your strengths, build a healthy support system as well as create a life grounded in hope, resilience, purpose and lasting, meaningful relationships. Healing is possible and you don’t have to do it alone.
First session
During our first session I will introduce myself and give you the opportunity to ask any questions regarding my experience as a therapist. After that I will ask a series of questions to get to know your family history, cultural background, spiritual beliefs, as well as mental health and substance use issues as part of the evaluation process. This will serve as a guide once we begin to treatment plan,
Strengths
I take an eclectic approach during each therapy session, which allows me to meet each client where they are at in their healing journey. . Im direct, humorous, honest, authentic as well as warm and empathetic.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is open minded, honest, spiritual and self aware. They are someone who struggles with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and/or substance abuse. Someone who is consistent with their appointments, communicative, and honest, Someone who is not afraid to ask questions and take accountability for their actions, Someone who is brave enough to face their shadow, even if they’re fearful, because they want things to change,
