Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Northern California. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Southern Oregon University and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from National University and have been practicing for 5 years. I work with a variety of clients helping them process through life challenges while helping them gain strength and confidence in themselves.
In the first session, you can expect a brief introduction and overview of what to expect in therapy. Then we will dive into some background information of what is bringing you to therapy, what symptoms you are experiencing, your family and relationship history as well as any other pertinent information that is necessary for me to know in order to best help you.
My greatest strength as a provider is that I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective. This meaning that I will follow you where you want to go in therapy and help you with whatever you are wanting to work on. I won’t push you to work on things that you aren’t ready for.
I enjoy working with couples, personality disorders, and women in pre- or postpartum. My clients are open to the concept of therapy and understand that therapy is process, not a quick fix.
Tristanne Gallardo-Stewart offers therapy covered by Central California Alliance for Health (Medi-Cal), Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal, L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Orange County Mental Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
I have found it beneficial to teach clients the psychology behind why they do certain things or respond in certain ways.
I use this method to help with cognitive reframing and cognitive challenging to help decrease negative and anxious thoughts.
I use EFT for couples to help them work through a variety of issues ranging from trust issues, infidelity, divorce, etc.
I use EMDR to help clients progress through any and all traumatic events they have experienced.
