New to Grow
Hi, I’m Judith, and I am so glad you are here! I believe meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and supported. Whether you are navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or substance use, you do not have to face it alone. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and trauma-informed, focused on helping you build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward healing and growth. I will walk alongside you through life’s challenges and help you identify and take the next right step forward. When I’m not wearing my counselor hat, you can usually find me cooking, spending time with my family and dogs, taking walks, listening to podcasts, or finding joy in the little things.
During our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to counseling, the challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. We will also complete a biopsychosocial assessment, which is a comprehensive conversation that helps me better understand the different areas of your life, including your emotional and mental health, medical history, relationships, family dynamics, stressors, strengths, coping skills, and overall support system. This process is important because it helps create a more complete picture of your experiences and allows us to develop goals and a treatment approach that best fits your individual needs. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.
One of my greatest strengths as a counselor is my ability to create a grounded, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported. I have experience working with individuals navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, substance use, co-occurring disorders, and major life transitions, including work within correctional and community mental health settings. My approach is trauma-informed, honest, and collaborative, balancing emotional support with practical tools and skill-building to help clients create meaningful and lasting change. While I deeply respect the weight of difficult experiences, I also believe laughter, humor, and moments of lightness can be incredibly healing. I strive to create a space where clients can process hard things while still finding room for hope, connection, authenticity, and even moments of joy along the way.
I am best positioned to support teens, young adults, and adults navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and substance use or co-occurring disorders. I work well with clients who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by past experiences and are seeking a safe, supportive space to process, heal, and move forward. My approach is grounded, compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on helping clients build insight, emotional resilience, and healthier coping strategies.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
I use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients identify unhealthy thought patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to emotional distress or self-defeating behaviors. I help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthier and more balanced ways of thinking. I commonly incorporate REBT into work with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and substance use recovery.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop healthy coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen interpersonal effectiveness, and manage distress in a healthier way. I commonly incorporate DBT skills such as mindfulness, grounding techniques, distress tolerance, boundary setting, and emotional regulation into sessions with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. My approach is trauma-informed, supportive, and focused on helping clients build practical skills they can apply in everyday life.
