Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I take a caring, empathetic, and collaborative approach with my clients. In your first session, we will work on getting to know each other better and explore why you decided to seek counseling. Therapy is a partnership. We will work together to achieve your goals. You are the expert of your own story and I will always let you discuss what you feel is most important so that you can get the most out of our time together. Homework will be assigned when appropriate or needed.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I work with clients to find what methods will work best for them. I will then use the evidence-based treatments that have been proven to work best with your specific mental health concerns. I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) which is often used to help clients build upon their strengths and help find solutions to what you are facing. I also often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where we will discuss how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are linked, work on creating healthy coping skills, and help you learn mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. Other common techniques I use come from motivational interviewing, narrative, and couples therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I enjoy helping people overcome anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, addiction, relational/communication issues, and all mood disorders. Whether you are going through a crisis or adjusting to new changes in your life I know we will be a great fit for each other!
