New to Grow
Hello! I'm Shante, and I believe everyone experiences seasons in life when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. I take a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, meeting you where you are while helping you build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and move toward the life you want. I enjoy working with adults from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship and family challenges, self-esteem concerns, and stress.
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, what's important to you, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. There is no pressure to share everything at once, we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and goals, and together we'll begin creating a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs. My priority is to help you leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
I believe therapy should be both meaningful and practical. My approach combines compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based techniques to help you better understand yourself while building skills you can use in everyday life. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and harm reduction strategies to tailor treatment to each individual's goals and circumstances. Rather than focusing only on problems, I help clients recognize their existing strengths, build resilience, and develop confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. Clients often describe me as approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, feel accepted without judgment, and even find moments of laughter along the way. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship challenges, we'll work together to create lasting, meaningful change that extends beyond our sessions.
My ideal client is an adult who is ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes, even if they're not sure where to begin. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship or family challenges, chronic stress, or simply feeling stuck and overwhelmed by life's demands. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and strive to create a welcoming, affirming space where every client feels respected and valued. Whether you're seeking therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I'll meet you where you are without judgment. Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward goals that align with your values so you can build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I identify as
Adlerian
I use a combination of Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to help clients better understand themselves, overcome challenges, and create lasting change. Adlerian Therapy helps us explore how past experiences, relationships, and beliefs may be affecting your life today while building on your strengths and personal goals. CBT helps identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with healthier ways of thinking and coping, making it effective for anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. When trauma is part of your story, I use Trauma-Focused CBT to help you safely process difficult experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel heard, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to improve your mental health and overall well-being.
