About me

Hi, I’m Christina, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I know starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially when you’re used to handling things on your own. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what’s going on without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out. I work with individuals who may be dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed. In our sessions, we’ll take time to understand what’s contributing to how you’re feeling, identify patterns that may no longer be working for you, and find healthier ways to manage what life is bringing your way. I’m easygoing and supportive in my approach, but I’ll also challenge you when needed. Therapy with me isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about having a place to work through things, learn more about yourself, and figure out what works best for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and creating a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, feel heard, and know that what you’re experiencing matters. I’ll ask some questions about your background, current concerns, and what brought you to therapy so I can get a better understanding of you and your experiences. We’ll also talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and begin identifying goals we can work toward together. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you’re ready for. My goal is for us to begin building a therapeutic relationship that feels supportive, comfortable, and collaborative.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my strengths is meeting you where you are while also helping you move toward where you want to be. I believe there are moments when you simply need a safe space to feel heard and supported, and other moments when you may need to be challenged to look at things from a different perspective. My approach is warm, genuine, direct, and honest. I’m not afraid to ask the difficult questions or offer a different perspective when I believe it can help you grow. At the same time, I want you to feel supported and understood throughout the process. Together, we’ll work on recognizing patterns, building practical coping skills, and making meaningful changes that you can carry with you outside of therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, stuck, or simply trying to navigate a difficult season of life. You may find yourself overthinking, struggling to manage your emotions, putting the needs of others before your own, or feeling unsure about what your next step should be. You don’t have to come to therapy with everything figured out you just have to be willing to show up and be open to the process. I enjoy working with clients who want a space where they can feel heard and supported while also being challenged to recognize patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in their lives.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation to help you better understand what you may be experiencing and why certain thoughts, emotions, or behaviors show up. We may explore how anxiety, stress, emotional responses, or past experiences can affect the way you think and respond to situations. My goal is to make this information easy to understand and relatable to your everyday life so you can become more aware of your patterns and learn practical ways to manage them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways to manage stress, anxiety, and everyday challenges.

Faith based therapy

I incorporate faith-based counseling for clients who want their spiritual beliefs to be part of the therapeutic process. Together, we can explore how faith, values, and spirituality can support healing, personal growth, and coping with life’s challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical behavioral therapy to help you better manage difficult emotions, cope with stress, and respond to challenging situations in healthier ways. We’ll focus on practical skills you can use in your everyday life.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore what may be holding you back from making changes and identify your own reasons for moving forward. We’ll work through uncertainty, build on your strengths, and develop realistic steps toward the goals that matter to you.
