Dr. Tracy LaChapelle (Dr. T) is dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges with confidence and compassion. She brings extensive experience in evidence-based, trauma-informed care to support clients working through trauma, depression, anxiety, loneliness, ADHD/Neurodiversity, disabilities, self-esteem challenges, social anxiety, autism, social-skills development, and major life transitions. Dr. T is also deeply committed to providing Transgender and Gender-Affirming Care, offering a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families. She strives to create an environment where clients can explore their identities, build resilience, and experience genuine self-acceptance. Grounded in her belief that therapy is a journey of discovery rather than change, Dr. T says: “Engaging in therapy is not about changing a person; it’s about finding the person—their strengths—and supporting them in becoming their truest selves.” Compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-focused, Dr. T partners with clients to help them heal, grow, and thrive.

Therapy with Dr. T is not just about addressing challenges—it’s about discovering strengths, building resilience, and creating lasting, empowering change
With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. T is especially well-suited to work with clients who are ready for a therapeutic space where they can feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported. Her ideal clients may be navigating emotional challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, or long-standing patterns that no longer serve them—but who are also open to healing, growing, and discovering new strengths within themselves. Dr. T is passionate about helping clients who: Want to feel comfortable and secure with their therapist. Are seeking a warm, authentic, and judgment-free space. Are motivated to understand themselves more deeply. Desire tools and strategies to move past barriers. Hope to build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being. Value a collaborative, strengths-focused approach. May be new to therapy or returning after past unhelpful experiences. She feels honored to walk alongside you as you uncover your strengths, gain insight, and create meaningful change. Her goal is to help you feel better, function better, and step more fully into the best version of yourself.
Dr. T uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective, evidence-based approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In CBT, you’ll learn how to identify unhelpful or negative thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic, and supportive thoughts—leading to healthier behaviors and improved emotional well-being. Because many emotional and behavioral reactions are learned over time, CBT focuses on the empowering belief that they can also be unlearned or changed. With guidance, practice, and support, clients gain practical tools to shift old patterns, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their daily lives.
Dr. T provides Gender-Affirming Therapy, a holistic, supportive approach that honors each person’s unique experience of gender identity and expression. This therapeutic method focuses on understanding and validating your emotional, social, and physical needs related to gender, while offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore who you are. Gender-affirming therapy may include discussing social, legal, or medical options—only if and when you choose—always at your pace and based on your goals. The focus is on helping you feel happy, healthy, and safe in your gender, with the support of a therapist who respects and affirms your authentic self.
Dr. T uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients in understanding how their traumatic experiences, triggers, and emotional responses shape their current patterns. DBT offers practical, compassionate interventions that honor each person’s individual needs and recognize the profound impact trauma can have on emotion regulation and behavior. In DBT, clients receive validation of their feelings—without judgment—and are encouraged to express thoughts and emotions openly and safely. Treatment focuses on developing skills such as emotional self-regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthy communication. Through these strategies, clients learn to: Manage overwhelming emotions. Strengthen coping abilities. Build resilience. Reduce self-destructive patterns. Move toward healing and a greater sense of stability. DBT provides both structure and support, helping clients feel more grounded, empowered, and capable in their daily lives.

Dr T is truly trauma informed. She is the best therapist I have ever worked with in all aspects. She is clear with her boundaries and creates relationships with her clients to enable trust and growth. She understands neurodivergent issues.
