Everyone needs therapy. Some of us just choose to distract ourselves with the day-to-day madness. The problem with this is that life will eventually slow you down and you are unable to use those distractions. This is typically when you may feel hit hard by anxiety, panic, and depression. We will start with coping skills and mindfulness but I am here for the long haul. I am a damn good therapist, and I want to help you truly heal. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over nine years of professional experience. In 2015, I completed my master’s degree from West Texas A&M. I began my professional career with the Pavilion, an inpatient psychiatric hospital where I conducted individual, group, and family therapy. For the past seven years, I have worked with geriatric patients in an intensive outpatient program. I also do individual and couples counseling.
First session
Clients frequently tell me that they have anxiety about the first appointment. I can assure you that there is nothing to be anxious about. I'm extremely laid back and nonjudgmental. An initial assessment is usually just to collect background information.
Strengths
My specialties include: Anxiety, Panic Depression Trauma Grief Substance Abuse Couples Counseling I generally use a psychodynamic approach which involves us having a conversation and I notice patterns and themes that come up. Clients report finding this approach very comforting because even if they don't have something specific to talk about we still have a productive and beneficial session.
