Hi. I am Victoria. I believe that we each have the power within us to heal, change and grow the life we’ve always imagined. But no one does this alone. I value the power of therapeutic relationships to help us overcome fears and obstacles that get in the way; whether from trauma, symptoms of anxiety or depression, or difficult medical, societal or environmental circumstances. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and completed a Post-Master's Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center. I have been a licensed clinician for 35 years. I am also a Qualified Supervisor of therapists specializing in the treatment of trauma of all kinds including loss and attachment trauma from disrupted relationships. I work with pre-school children and their families, school-aged children and teens and adults. I have successfully treated a wide range of behavioral health disorders including ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, BiPolar Disorder, Eating Disorders and many co-occurring concerns. I am person-centered and strive to be culturally aware in all that I do. Therapy proceeds at your pace, in your time at your direction. I would love to be alongside in your journey to help you discover your heart’s light.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I am very curious about people and can always generate the discussion, and then listen. I try to give my clients "a pearl" each session ; an idea or action they can use to help themselves between sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel that my strengths include a strong capacity to develop relationships as a tool for healing, experience, emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to a broad group of individuals by being patient, curious and compassionate. I truly love people and feel grateful and honored to be a part of decreasing suffering and increasing resiliency wherever possible. I strongly believe in post-traumatic growth, and the reintegration of traumatic experiences into one's life with new strength and meaning. Humor helps everything!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Young children and caregivers, Children, teens, adults who have experienced traumatic experiences and are having an emotional, social or physical impact on their functioning. Marginalized and/or oppressed populations.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR helps with processing past trauma and/or moving past "stuck" memories or emotions. I have both professional and personal experience with this method and recommend it highly although not for everyone.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients develop healthy coping skills and improve life and relationship functioning.

Psychodynamic

The psychodynamic approach helps people understand the "why" of their behavior and thinking, and origins of their trauma-reactive behavior.

Motivational Interviewing

MI challenges people who think they may want to change but are unsure of why or of the benefit to them.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-focused CBT is often integrated into other methods to shift client's current thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are based in past trauma and potentially harmful to their well-being.
