Jasmeen Kaur
Hi, my name is Jasmeen, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work and am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges in a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment. My goal is to create a safe space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their healing journey.
First session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and identify your goals for treatment.
Strengths
My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing at your own pace. Together, we'll develop a plan that addresses your immediate concerns while working toward your long-term goals for healing, growth, and overall well-being. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives. I especially enjoy working with people who have experienced trauma, whether from childhood experiences, relationships, loss, major life transitions, or other events that continue to impact how they feel and function today. Many of my clients may feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or frustrated by patterns they understand intellectually but have difficulty changing. Others may simply recognize that they want something to feel different and are ready to take the next step. I believe therapy is about helping you reconnect with your strengths and feel more in control of your life.
Treatment methods
EMDR
EMDR is a evidence based therapy approach that works specifically with the memory center of your brain. This approach can help reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories and the impact they continue to have on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. For many people, EMDR can support meaningful progress in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy, while allowing them to move toward healing without having to repeatedly describe every detail of their experiences.
