Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have received my Master’s Degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Long Beach. My specialty areas include dual diagnosis, Drugs and Alcohol, depression, anxiety, stress management, family issues, addiction, and life management. I am fluent in both languages: English, and Farsi. By utilizing interventions from the Cognitive-behavioral Model, strengths-based approaches, meditation and mindfulness practices. My approach to therapy comes from a holistic and client-centered perspective: focusing on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. Living in many communities with different cultural backgrounds, and the experience gained with individuals from diverse backgrounds has enabled me to be more mindful of how cultural aspects can influence one's life. Therefore, I aim to create a safe, trusting space to help overcome issues, and highlight the strengths & growth. Together, during the biggest life transitions we can identify what areas in your life need to improve, and explore the necessary tools and coping skills that best work, to get you back to a more balanced life. We'll use a whole-self approach to address your mind, body and spirit. Life can be easier, fun, and blissful! Having 14-years of experience in the field of dual diagnosis, helps me to serve my clients who are experiencing mental health issue, and addiction problems. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (an evidenced based approach), alongside with coping strategies, will help to experience a shift in the negative thinking, and an increase in coping strategies in order to have more control over addiction problems.
In session we will explore a variety of reasons how/why you have reached the state of mind you are in. Then analyze the way you approach life's issues, and the thoughts and the emotions that come around, leading to anxiety, or sadness.
