Hi there! Welcome. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 9 years of experience supporting adults, children, and families in different community mental health settings. At this time I work with adults in 1:1 therapy sessions with the primary goal of creating a safe and supportive environment for you to process challenging feelings and thoughts as well as explore issues related to life transitions, anxiety, past trauma, relationship difficulties, and more. These are challenging times and many of us need support. I commend you for taking a first step towards healing.
During our first session, we will begin with brief introductions and some assessment questions to get a sense of the issues that have brought you to therapy. I will ask you about your past therapy experiences and current goals, enabling us to co-create a roadmap for our work together and determine if I am the best fit for your concerns. Sometimes, after 1-3 initial sessions, one or both of us may determine that you need support with concerns outside of my current scope of practice. If this is the case, I would refer you to another Grow Therapy clinician best suited to you. You deserve appropriate, ethical, and competent care.
What I provide for my clients is empathy, kindness, and understanding. With me, there’s no hurry or pressure to find an answer or reach a destination before you feel ready. I’m here to help you explore the underlying causes of your distress and guide you towards greater ease with compassionate, considerate care.
As a therapist, my approach is grounded in a humanistic and person-centered lens. I will work collaboratively with you to meet you where you are, uncover your hidden strengths, identify goals, and explore your core concerns. Taking the first step in therapy can feel overwhelming and challenging, but I'm here to be a fellow traveler on your journey and a support person in your corner. I offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to explore, learn about yourself, and make progress toward your goals. Please feel free to reach out.
I work from a person-centered lens, which means that I believe you have the capacity and self-knowledge for personal growth. I will start getting to know you using curiosity, empathy, and warmth to ensure you feel seen and heard. I am relational, flexible, and often use humor to connect.
I may also use a somatic lens to increase your self-awareness of what happens in your body as you navigate stress. Our bodies are often wise guides that can help us tune into what needs attention or what we have been avoiding. Mindfulness is a key tool that can be helpful in both uncovering what's coming up for you and expanding your ability to tolerate life stressors.
Through my use of CBT, I work with my clients to unpack challenging thoughts, feelings, and identify patterns that may be contributing to distress. CBT illuminates the various ways our thoughts can add to our suffering and offers both coping skills and new ways of thinking and behaving that will improve your ability to handle what life throws your way.
