Hello! I'm Jennifer, a License Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Master degree from the University of Southern California 9 years ago and have been in the social work field for almost 15 years. While I have worked with a range of ages, from school age to older adults, my focus for the last 9 years has been dedicated to Adults and Geriatrics. Over the years I have committed to supporting Adults navigate the many different chapters of life, including end of life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions as well as your expectations and goals of therapy. If you are unable to complete your initial intake infromation prior to our first session, we will take the time to complete this information together. We will begin to discuss your challenges and strengths in order to outline a plan/ areas of focus for our sessions to follow.
The many years in my field have allowed me to reinforce an open minded, trust building approach in my practice, while being able to promote change through accountability.
I love working with young and older adults who seek to explore how to cope with life changes/stressors. I fully appreciate both English and Spanish Speaking clients, who are ready to share their experiences, feelings and thoughts in order to find the best coping tools for them.
With a helpful tool like CBT, we can identify our negative thinking patterns, behaviors and emotional challenges, while supporting you in identifying the best ways to cope.
There are many ways we experience loss throughout our life time. For over 8 years I have supported people through the grief process, understanding that grief is a unique experiences for us all.
Supporting you with a strength -based approach allows us to explore in identifying your strongest value and using that to build a strong foundation of skills.
