In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapy to my clients. My therapeutic style is rooted in client-centered and trauma-informed approaches, recognizing the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I have undergone specialized training in trauma treatment. I have a deep understanding of the impact trauma can have on individuals' lives and utilize evidence-based techniques to help clients heal and regain control over their lives. One of the methods I employ is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a proven therapeutic approach that facilitates the processing and resolution of traumatic memories and related distressing emotions. In addition to trauma treatment, I am also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). This certification reflects my expertise in working with individuals who have ADHD, allowing me to provide targeted support and interventions tailored to their unique needs. Through a comprehensive understanding of ADHD, I assist clients in managing symptoms, developing effective coping strategies, and maximizing their potential. Beyond my professional endeavors, I prioritize maintaining strong connections with loved ones. Nurturing these relationships allows me to replenish my own emotional well-being and reminds me of the importance of meaningful connections in our lives. I also find solace and rejuvenation in nature. Engaging in activities such as kayaking, hiking, and embracing a wellness-oriented lifestyle not only promotes my personal well-being but also informs my therapeutic approach by recognizing the healing power of nature and the benefits of incorporating holistic practices into one's life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At our first session, we will get to know each other and dive into the specific challenges that bring you to therapy. This helps us create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is my genuine empathy. I strive to deeply understand my clients' emotions and experiences, allowing me to provide them with the compassion and support they need. I believe one of my greatest strengths lies in my nonjudgmental attitude. I strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding where my clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of being judged. I see empowerment as a vital aspect of therapy. I aim to help my clients tap into their inner resources, discover their strengths, and develop the skills necessary to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my sessions with clients, I apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to collaboratively address and transform negative thought patterns and behaviors. Together, we identify distorted thinking, challenge those beliefs, and work on cultivating healthier perspectives.

EMDR

I employ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients in processing and overcoming distressing or traumatic experiences. In sessions, I guide clients through sets of bilateral stimulation, often involving eye movements, to facilitate the brain's natural ability to heal from emotional wounds.

Motivational Interviewing

I incorporate motivational interviewing to support clients in exploring and resolving ambivalence about behavioral change. In sessions, I use empathetic listening, reflective questioning, and affirmations to help clients express their own motivations for change.

Strength-Based

I incorporate a strength-based approach in my therapy sessions to empower clients by focusing on their existing strengths and resources. Together, we identify and build upon their positive qualities, skills, and resilience.
