Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session we will focus primarily on what is bringing you to therapy. We will complete a biopsychosocial assessment together, which focuses on biological, psychological, and social factors that may be impacting your overall wellbeing. I will ask questions to better understand your history and current symptoms and experiences. We will discuss your goals for therapy and begin to build a therapeutic relationship. You can expect a warm and nurturing environment to safely begin your healing process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take a person-centered approach to therapy, focusing on meeting my clients where they are on their healing journey and tailoring treatment to meet each individual's needs. I specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which are evidence-based treatment modalities for individuals struggling with a variety of mental health concerns. I am also trained in Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Counseling, which is an effective approach for couples looking to improve their relationship. I have experiencing working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, co-occurring substance use concerns, grief and loss, relational and family problems, body image issues, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation disorders, religious trauma, and women's issues. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist clients in understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This type of therapy helps clients better manage unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that impact mood and symptoms. Through this treatment modality, clients are able to improve thinking and overall mental wellbeing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support clients in emotional regulation. This treatment modality is helpful for clients who experience intense emotions. Through DBT, clients learn skills to accept and manage their emotions in healthier ways.

Gottman method

Gottman method couples counseling is based on decades of research. Through the Gottman lens, couples improve their relationship by learning how to communicate effectively with each other, manage conflict in healthier ways, and through increasing connection, shared meaning, and friendship.

Mind-body approach

Utilizing a mind-body approach in treatment helps clients understand the connection between physical experiences and mental/emotional wellbeing. In this approach, I teach clients to use increase awareness of what their bodies are telling them and the connection to their mental health.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Treatment is useful for clients who wish to focus on resolving a current stressor or problem within their lives. In this treatment modality, clients focus on taking a structured approach to their future goals rather than focusing on past problems or experiences.
