LCSW, 3 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello! My name is Mikenzie Mckimmie, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina. Over the past three years, I have been providing therapy, building on more than nine years of experience in supporting individuals and families through crisis and trauma. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, client centered care. I specialize in trauma-informed care with a center in my practice of cognitive behavioral therapy. My approach focuses on creating a safe, nonjudgmental place where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experience while developing practical tool for growth, healing and resilience.
In the first session, I take the time to get to know you. We will explore what brings you to therapy, and what your ideal mental health goals are. Together we make goals for your future.
My strength is my ability to provide a safe, and nonjudgmental space for you to be yourself, and explore your story. My goal for you is to gain a greater self-awareness, improved coping skills, and stronger relationships.
Are you ready to heal, grow and make lasting changes? Whether you're navigating trauma, managing stress, working through relationships, or life changes, I meet you where you are to guide, encourage, provide tools, and challenge you toward the life YOU want to build.
I utilize Cognitive behavioral Therapy(CBT), an evidence-based approach that play a central role in my practice. Through CBT, I help clients gain a deeper understanding of the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together, we work to identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns while building healthier perspectives that empower positive and meaningful change.
I practice from a trauma-informed lens, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to process and heal. With over nine years of experience in crisis response, I have supported individuals and families navigating the impacts of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. I am comfortable engaging in difficult conversations and approach sensitive topics with empathy, respect, and care. My background allows me to walk alongside both individuals and families as they work through challenging experiences and move towards resilience and recovery.
