I'm a somatic psychotherapist in the Boulder area specializing in trauma-informed care and integrative healing. I combine evidence-based approaches with body-based methods to help clients navigate modern life challenges. Drawing from both traditional therapy and innovative techniques, I create a space where lasting transformation can occur through the integration of mind and body wisdom. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, processing trauma, or seeking better work-life integration, I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to support your journey toward wholeness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll create a warm, collaborative space to explore what brings you to therapy and what matters most to you. I'll take time to understand your unique story - including your background, current challenges, and what approaches have helped or hindered in the past. Together, we'll identify meaningful goals while I share how my integrative approach might serve your specific needs. We'll discuss which combination of methods - from cognitive approaches to somatic awareness - could best support your journey. You'll leave with a clear sense of our potential path forward, some initial tools to support your immediate needs, and a collaborative plan for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths lie in combining professional understanding with therapeutic expertise. Having a background in both tech and mental health allows me to bridge the gap between professional demands and personal wellbeing. I'm dedicated to fostering a safe, accepting environment where we can work at your pace while utilizing evidence-based practices. My integration of traditional therapeutic approaches with innovative body-based methods offers a comprehensive path to healing that addresses both immediate challenges and deeper patterns. My warm, collaborative style helps clients feel understood while working toward practical, sustainable solutions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with tech professionals, neurodivergent adults, and individuals navigating trauma or anxiety. My background in both technology and mental health allows me to uniquely understand your challenges and goals, whether you're a high-achieving professional or someone working to unlock your full potential. Through my blend of evidence-based approaches and innovative healing methods, we'll create a powerful foundation for growth - whether you're managing the demands of a tech career, seeking to better understand your neurodivergent experience, or working through past trauma. I work with adults and adolescents (12+), providing neurodiversity-affirming care that honors your individual experience.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you develop psychological flexibility and live according to your values. Rather than getting stuck fighting difficult thoughts or feelings, we'll work together to build acceptance while taking meaningful action in your life. This approach is particularly helpful for managing work stress, life transitions, and anxiety, especially for my tech professional clients who often face high-pressure environments.

Brainspotting

As a trauma-informed therapist, I use Brainspotting to help you process difficult experiences that may be stored in your body and nervous system. By identifying specific eye positions that connect to emotional experiences, we can access and process trauma, anxiety, and other challenges that talk therapy alone might not fully address. This method can be especially powerful for resolving complex trauma and performance blocks.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I integrate CBT to help you identify and shift thought patterns that may be impacting your wellbeing. We'll examine the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, developing practical strategies to manage challenges. This evidence-based approach is particularly effective for anxiety management, executive functioning challenges, and professional stress.

Mind-body approach

My practice emphasizes the deep connection between mental and physical wellbeing. Using mind-body techniques, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and other somatic methods, we work with both your thoughts and physical experiences to create lasting change. I help you tune into your body's signals and wisdom, using breath work, movement, and body awareness exercises to process emotions and build resilience. These approaches are especially helpful for stress management, emotional regulation, and developing a stronger mind-body connection in your daily life. For many of my clients, particularly those dealing with trauma or anxiety, learning to understand and work with their body's responses creates profound shifts that complement our other therapeutic work.

Trauma Informed Care

I recognize that past experiences can impact every aspect of life - from relationships and work to how you feel in your own body. Trauma-informed care means creating a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, respected, and in control of your healing journey. This approach is woven into every aspect of our work together, whether we're focused on current challenges or past experiences. I understand that trauma can affect how you process information, make decisions, and connect with others. Our sessions are paced to your needs, with clear communication and choice in how we proceed. We'll work together to identify your strengths and existing coping strategies while developing new tools that support your healing. This foundation of safety and understanding allows us to effectively use any of the other therapeutic methods that best serve your goals.
