Are you feeling stuck in frustrating patterns or struggling to find joy in the monotony of life? Are you easily overwhelmed by emotions? Do you struggle with overthinking, worrying, and obsessing over little things, big things, and everything in between? Perhaps you've tried different strategies on your own, but continue to find yourself falling back into old habits. Life is too short to be controlled by anxiety, depression, past traumas, or unsatisfying relationships. Let's get you moving in the right direction and help you find peace, control, and clarity. I can help you build a life that you feel excited to wake up to each morning. Together, we will create a plan to move you toward your goals, help you break free from the burdens that you carry, and cultivate a life of meaning and purpose. I offer a supportive space that incorporates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and couples counseling. Each of these modalities provide a way of integrating the mind-body connection and working through emotions, thought patterns, and experiences. Here, you will be free to share your concerns, fears, and insecurities while acquiring the necessary tools to propel yourself forward and live your best life. I can't wait to join you on your journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Effective therapy must begin with increasing awareness of how an individual's experiences, knowledge, beliefs, personality characteristics, expectations, influences, and past traumas have played a role in their development. When we are confronted with the hard truth that our past has led us to thinking and behaving in ways that no longer serve us, we can begin the process of change. Relationally trained, I strive to create a healing connection that can be transferred outside of the therapy room into your other relationships. I like to focus our work in 3 areas: relationship to yourself, others, & the world. We will work to make connections between your past and present experiences to increase awareness of how we got here and where we would like to go in the future. My hope is that clients leave session with a different perspective and a brighter outlook on their future.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy, which is something I value and embrace in my work. I use evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness strategies, and Gottman relationship techniques to help you reach your goals. The first session will focus on defining the presenting problem and exploring contextual factors surrounding the problem. We will define your goals and discuss approaches that we can take to meet those goals. Homework may be assigned between sessions to assist you in practicing the skills that we cover in therapy. Therapeutic change comes not just from the insights you discover in session but from integrating what you learn into everyday life. You’ll leave the therapy sessions with tools and strategies to help you stay on track, move forward with your life, and successfully navigate any obstacles along your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Anxiety is often caused by an unwillingness to make peace with the terms of life. Acceptance is instrumental in allowing us to let go of the things that we cannot control. Acceptance is its own form of control in that we have the power to choose our attitudes and actions. Acceptance helps us tap into our experience as it is, rather than how we would like to it be. My practice centers around finding freedom through acceptance. I will introduce you to ways of having more control over your own life through the power of acceptance.
