Amy Overton
I have been a LCSW for over 20 years and for the most part have worked with an older population. I have worked with those with chronic illness, caregiver burnout, stress, grief, and anxiety. I have worked in Dialysis, nursing homes, elder care programs, and veterans/families. I can help provide tools, self awareness, and emotional regulation necessary to navigate life's challenges.
First session
Our first session is a collaborative, confidential and non-judgemental space designed to foster self discovery and develop coping skills. I will gather information and discuss what your goals are.
Strengths
I provide CBT, Interpersonal, Humanistic, and Psychodynamic talk therapy. I offer a safe space to talk without fear of being judged. You can openly discuss your feelings and emotions to understand yourself better and help you identify the things in your life that are causing you problems or distress. You will be given tools to recognize and address behaviors that are negatively affecting your life and help you resolve complex emotional issues or find ways to live with them.
Ideal clients
Clients who are open to exploring the connection between their physical symptoms, emotions, and thought patterns. Being willing to change, be willing to set boundaries, actively participate, be open to coping skills/tools, and commit to adjustments and changes in your life.
