First session
In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions to help establish a comfortable connection. From there, we’ll explore the specific challenges you’re facing so I can gain a clear understanding of your needs. This allows me to develop a personalized treatment plan, ensuring that our follow-up sessions are focused, supportive, and aligned with your goals.
Strengths
Having worked extensively with the special needs population—particularly in pediatrics—I’ve developed a proven, step-by-step approach to care. This includes helping you (a) identify the root causes of your challenges and (b) create a personalized plan designed to support measurable, meaningful progress.
Ideal clients
I have a deep passion for working with individuals with special needs and their families. Many of my clients are motivated to improve, but often lack the tools or support to turn that goal into reality. They frequently feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about what lies ahead. My role is to meet them where they are, help them feel understood, and empower them with practical strategies and compassionate care to move forward with confidence.
Treatment methods
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a form of psychological treatment in which a trained therapist uses play to help children express and work through difficult emotions, behaviors, or experiences. It allows them to cope with challenges in a safe and supportive environment by playing with toys and engaging in activities that are natural to their developmental stage. Play therapy is often used for children facing issues like anxiety, trauma, behavioral problems, or social difficulties.
Psychoeducation
Enhancing individuals' knowledge and skills to manage their condition and improve their well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps individuals manage problems by changing their thought patterns and behaviors, focusing on the present, and developing coping strategies.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
CPT focuses on helping individuals process and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to their PTSD symptoms. It uses cognitive-behavioral techniques to: Identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs Develop new, more balanced perspectives Improve coping skills Promote emotional regulation
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culturally sensitive therapy emphasizes the importance of understanding how a client's cultural background, including race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and other identity factors, can influence their experiences, beliefs, and behaviors.
