Dr. Rawda Nourain, DNP
Hi, I’m Dr. Rawda Nourain, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing telehealth psychiatric evaluations and medication management in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. I specialize in ADHD treatment, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and insomnia for adolescents and adults. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, unfocused, emotionally drained, or frustrated with medications that aren’t working. My goal is to provide clear answers, an accurate diagnosis, and a treatment plan that truly helps.
Clients often come to me feeling frustrated—maybe medications haven’t worked, side effects have been overwhelming, or they’ve felt rushed and unheard in past appointments.
I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management, with a strong focus on ADHD medication optimization, anxiety treatment, depression treatment, and mood stabilization. I carefully monitor effectiveness and side effects to ensure your medications support better focus, stable mood, improved sleep, and overall functioning. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and results-oriented. I take time to listen, answer questions, and involve you in every decision. Whether you are starting psychiatric treatment for the first time or looking to adjust your current medications, I’m here to help you feel more balanced, productive, and in control of your mental health.
First session
Your first appointment is a 45–60 minute comprehensive psychiatric evaluation conducted via secure telehealth. This visit is designed to gain a clear understanding of your symptoms, history, and goals so we can create an effective treatment plan from the start. We’ll talk through your current concerns—such as ADHD symptoms, anxiety, depression, mood changes, sleep difficulties, or focus issues—along with your medical history, past medications, stressors, and how symptoms are affecting your work, school, relationships, and daily functioning. If medication is appropriate, we’ll review personalized options for psychiatric medication management, including expected benefits, potential side effects, and what the adjustment process looks like. My goal is for you to feel informed, comfortable, and actively involved in every decision. By the end of your first session, you can expect: A clear understanding of your symptoms and diagnosis (if applicable) Individualized, evidence-based treatment recommendations A structured plan for next steps and follow-up visits Ongoing appointments focus on optimizing medications, monitoring progress, and making thoughtful adjustments to help you achieve better focus, emotional balance, improved sleep, and long-term stability. My approach is collaborative, efficient, and supportive—so you feel heard and confident in your care from day one.
Strengths
Clients often come to me feeling frustrated—maybe medications haven’t worked, side effects have been overwhelming, or they’ve felt rushed and unheard in past appointments. One of my greatest strengths is creating a space where you feel listened to, respected, and fully involved in your treatment decisions. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and sleep concerns, with a strong focus on thoughtful, precise medication management. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I take time to understand your specific symptoms, daily demands, and personal goals so we can build a plan that truly fits your life. I’m especially skilled at medication optimization—adjusting carefully to improve focus, stabilize mood, reduce anxiety, and support better sleep while minimizing side effects. I also explain everything clearly, so you always understand what we’re doing and why. My care is warm, efficient, and results-driven. If you’re ready for a provider who combines clinical expertise with genuine support and collaboration, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.
Ideal clients
I work best with high-functioning adolescents and adults who are ready to better understand their mental health and take an active role in their treatment. Many of my clients are busy professionals, students, and individuals managing demanding lifestyles while struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood instability, or burnout. My ideal clients are often motivated but feel stuck—they may be overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, having difficulty focusing, or noticing that their current coping strategies are no longer working. They are looking for clarity, structure, and effective medication management to regain stability and improve their daily functioning. I also work well with individuals who value a direct, results-oriented approach, want to better understand how medications work, and appreciate collaborative, transparent care. Whether you're navigating life transitions, struggling with focus and productivity, or trying to feel like yourself again, I provide a supportive space focused on real, measurable progress.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
I utilize psychoeducation as a core component of medication management services. During consultations, I provide clear explanations about mental health conditions, medication mechanisms, and expected outcomes. I teach clients to recognize therapeutic effects versus side effects and emphasize the importance of medication adherence. This educational approach empowers clients to make informed decisions about their treatment while I collaborate with therapists who provide complementary therapeutic modalities.
