Elisa King
Hi, and welcome! I’m a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and I believe that hope is an important anchor in our lives, even during our most challenging moments. Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, or disconnected from ourselves. You may be struggling with past trauma, current challenges, or negative thoughts that make it difficult to see a way forward. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we can explore your experiences, discover your strengths, and develop practical skills to help you manage your emotions, build resilience, and move toward the life you want.
Hope anchors the soul, but life’s challenges and emotional distress can sometimes dim our hope; healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk this journey alone.
As an Afro-Latina therapist and ordained minister, I value the importance of feeling understood in all aspects of who you are. I strive to create a culturally and spiritually affirming space where you can feel safe being yourself and explore what healing and growth mean to you. You don’t have to have all the answers to begin. We can take things one step at a time, at a pace that feels right for you, as you work toward renewed hope, greater self-understanding, and emotional well-being.
First session
In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to change, and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll begin identifying your strengths and exploring practical ways to help you manage life’s challenges. You don’t need to have all the answers—this is the beginning of a journey we’ll take one step at a time, with hope and support along the way.
Strengths
I bring compassion, empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping my clients feel heard and understood. My personal experiences as an immigrant have taught me the importance of resilience, hope, and having someone who believes in you during difficult times. As an Afro-Latina, bilingual therapist, and ordained minister, I value each person’s unique background, experiences, and beliefs. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, helping clients recognize their strengths, discover new perspectives, and develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. I believe meaningful change happens when we feel supported, understood, and empowered to move forward at our own pace. My top specialties are Anxiety, Depression, and Spirituality.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, grief, low self-esteem, or major life changes. You may feel overwhelmed, struggle to manage emotions, or be seeking greater balance and direction in your life. I welcome people from all backgrounds who are ready to better understand themselves, build healthier relationships, and develop practical coping skills. Together, we’ll build on your strengths and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. Together, we’ll explore unhelpful thought patterns and find healthier ways to manage stress, anxiety, and life’s challenges. My goal is to help you build confidence, develop useful coping skills, and feel more in control of your emotions. We’ll work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
