As a licensed mental health counselor, I am here to provide compassionate, evidence-based support to help you navigate life's challenges. My approach focuses on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work together to understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop practical strategies for achieving your goals. Whether you're dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, or simply looking to improve your well-being, I am committed to guiding you on your path to healing and personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session involves reviewing the required disclosures, limits to confidentiality, what you can expect from me, and answering many questions. Feel free to bring your questions, too! My therapy style is laid-back and suggestive. I focus on addressing root causes, not just symptoms.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to set clients at ease immediately, to listen deeply, and my compassionate, client-centered approach. I take the time to truly understand each individual’s unique experiences and challenges, creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel heard and valued. I also bring a strong foundation in evidence-based therapies, which allows me to help clients effectively address and work through their issues. My commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship with my clients ensures that we work together toward their healing and personal growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Our ideal client is anyone focused on solutions, ready to work on their issues, and open to understanding and doing work outside therapy. If you only want to vent, remember friends and family are free!

My treatment methods

EMDR

As a therapist, my experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) has been incredibly positive, particularly when working with clients experiencing significant trauma or PTSD; it provides a powerful tool to help them process and re-frame disturbing memories, often leading to significant reductions in emotional distress and improved coping mechanisms.

Somatic

In my practice, somatic treatment is a cornerstone approach that allows Clients to access and process deeply held emotions. By focusing on physical sensations within the body, it helps create a pathway to healing from trauma and stress. Cultivating greater bodily awareness and regulation through techniques like breath work, gentle movement, and sensory focus allows Clients to feel safe in their bodies again.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is a key tool to help Clients step back and examine the stories they tell themselves about their lives. Narrative therapy allows Clients to identify problematic narratives and actively construct more empowering alternative stories, ultimately leading to positive changes in their behavior and self-perception. This change is achieved by focusing on externalizing the problem, exploring unique outcomes, and empowering Clients as the expert on their own life narrative.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of my practice. CBT provides a structured and effective approach to help clients identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors contributing to their mental health challenges. CBT allows Clients to develop practical coping mechanisms and improve their overall wellbeing by focusing on current issues and actively engaging in the therapeutic process.

Group Therapy

In my practice, group therapy has been an invaluable treatment method, offering a supportive and dynamic environment where individuals can connect with others facing similar challenges. Through group therapy, I facilitate shared learning, mutual support, and emotional healing. I have seen firsthand how the group setting fosters a sense of community, reduces feelings of isolation, and helps individuals gain insights from both their peers and myself as the facilitator.
