Fathia Abu sheraiah
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and women’s mental health. I combine thoughtful medication management with psychotherapy to provide comprehensive, individualized care. I believe lasting progress comes from understanding the whole person, not just treating symptoms. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where every client feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
First session
During your first appointment, we’ll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to treatment. I’ll ask about your current symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, lifestyle, relationships, and personal goals so we can develop an individualized treatment plan together. If medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss treatment options, including the benefits, risks, and expected outcomes. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling understood, informed, supported, and hopeful about your next steps.
Strengths
I believe meaningful mental health care is built on trust, collaboration, and compassion. I take time to truly listen without judgment while also providing honest guidance when needed. My approach combines psychotherapy with thoughtful medication management, allowing us to address both immediate symptoms and the underlying factors contributing to emotional distress. I enjoy educating clients about their diagnoses and treatment options so they feel confident, involved, and empowered throughout the healing process.
Ideal clients
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and women’s mental health concerns. My ideal clients are motivated to better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and actively participate in treatment. I enjoy partnering with individuals and families to create personalized treatment plans that support meaningful, lasting progress. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide a safe, respectful, compassionate, and culturally sensitive environment where everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build practical skills to improve daily functioning and emotional well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their goals, strengthen motivation for change, and overcome barriers in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. This approach encourages lasting change by building on each client’s own strengths and values.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their strengths, build on previous successes, and develop realistic, achievable goals. This approach focuses on practical solutions that promote confidence, resilience, and meaningful progress.
Supportive
Supportive therapy provides a safe, compassionate space for clients to discuss challenges, process emotions, and build resilience. I offer guidance, validation, education, and practical coping strategies while helping clients navigate life’s stressors and improve overall emotional well-being.
Trauma-Informed Care
Medication management is individualized and based on each client’s symptoms, medical history, treatment goals, and preferences. I carefully monitor effectiveness, side effects, and progress while combining medication management with psychotherapy whenever appropriate to provide comprehensive care.
