My name is Heather. I have been studying and working in the field of social services for about 24 years. In my practice, collaboration is key. I believe in a client-centered approach where your goals and aspirations take center stage. Together, we'll work to manage symptoms associated with depression, address anger, develop effective coping skills, and tackle triggers linked to substance use. My focus is on empowering you to lead a more fulfilling and functional life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will complete an intake assessment. This assessment will consist of questions that focus on the most important person in your life--YOU! We will discuss your thoughts and feelings, any diagnoses you may have, medications you have been prescribed, and the reasons that you are seeking counseling.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that I do well in this field because I approach interactions with all of my clients with an open mind. Identifying and relating to my clients is of utmost importance to me so that I can know exactly how pertinent different aspects of their lives are to them. I enjoy working with clients to facilitate them in finding solutions to issues that have troubled them for a long time. Working with clients who have experienced judgement from former providers are often apprehensive about engaging in counseling again. I take pride in interacting with clients while leaving my own judgements aside.
