Hi there – my name is Isabel and I have nearly a decade of experience in helping others build stronger bonds with themselves and with others. No matter the challenges you have with depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, relationship issues, or even sudden life changes, it would be my honor to share my knowledge alongside with you towards a healthier lifestyle and mindset.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session together, we will be reviewing treatment expectations, as well as the intake assessment, where I can gain more insight into your needs and I can address any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have. Together, we can learn more about one another and determine if we are a good match. I know a first meeting can be quite anxiety-inducing, so I try my best to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to just be yourself and really have you prioritize what you want/need from therapy. You and your well-being are top priorities, and I commend you for taking the initiative to bettering yourself.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I embody a diverse lens to understand how various factors play a role in your current circumstances. I commit to a collaborative and client-centered journey where your voice will be heard without judgment. With your consistent dedication, motivation and engagement in treatment, we will work as a team in mending the wounds of your mind, body, and heart. Often times, a painful past makes it hard to speak up or let your guard down. You are not alone. As human beings, we appreciate when we feel heard, respected, and cared for. As your therapist, I strive to be a pillar of support as you navigate life's challenges and find faith in your capacity to heal, grow, and trust again.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Through my years of providing therapy, I have found that the most meaningful and effective work happens when my clients feel safe, supported, and truly heard. I am best positioned to work with individuals who are seeking a space to process and better understand their inner experiences. You may be a good fit if: - you are someone who needs a safe space to unload all of the pent-up emotions and thoughts that you have been keeping in - you are someone who struggles with self-doubt, low self-esteem, and intrusive/frequent negative thoughts about yourself - you are someone who wants to build greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence in who you are - you are someone who notices you are constantly putting other people's needs before your own - you are someone who has a tough time dealing with stress, burnout, and finding time to take care of yourself and do things you actually enjoy - you are someone who has difficulty dealing with relationship conflict and mistrust in others - you are someone who needs another person to help hold you accountable and work towards the goals you really want - you are someone who has a hard time managing your emotions and/or setting healthy boundaries with others - you are someone who wants to actively explore and make changes to your life and grow in more ways than one, but you may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward - you are someone who is receptive to being challenged and offered constructive feedback - you are someone who is driven, communicative, and can be fully committed/engaged in your treatment (e.g. attending sessions on time, completing homework assignments)

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Through ACT, I assist you in identifying the values and needs that are most important to you in various aspects of your life – this could include work, relationships, home, and overall life. I engage you in discussions on how your current lifestyle aligns versus contradicts these values and needs, and I collaborate with you in creating goals to work towards a more values-aligned lifestyle.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through CBT, I help you in identifying unhelpful thought patterns – I call attention to these thought patterns within session, with the eventual goal of you being able to identify and challenge these thought patterns yourself outside of session. I work with you in building insight into how your thoughts and your behaviors are connected, and I challenge you in transforming these thoughts and behaviors into healthier and more adaptive ones.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Through DBT, I introduce different strategies you can use for grounding, mindfulness, stress management, emotional regulation, etc. I engage you in role-play and model use of effective communication, conflict resolution, and healthy boundary setting skills in order to enhance your interpersonal relationships, as well as the relationship you have with yourself.

Humanistic

Through humanistic therapy, I focus on your strengths and collaborate with you on your journey towards healing and personal growth. I provide unconditional support and positive regard, applying a non-judgmental stance that encourages you to find space to prioritize your needs while building your self-love and self-acceptance.

Trauma Informed Care

Through trauma-informed care, I create a safe and validating space for you to share about past and current experiences that have contributed to intense emotions/thoughts related to anger, resentment, fear, pain, self-doubt, mistrust, hatred, etc. I will be with you every step of the way as we work to restore your power over your life and gradually break down those barriers that you had to put up for your own protection and self-preservation.
