Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgemental space where you feel safe being fully yourself. Together, we'll explore your experiences, identify patterns, build on your strengths, and work toward changes that feel meaningful and authentic to you. I believe feeling truly seen, heard, and accepted can be an important part of healing.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I recognize that who you are and what you've experienced cannot be separated from the cultural, familial, and societal environments that have shaped you. I approach our work with curiosity and cultural humility, honoring you as the expert on your own identity and lived experience. Together, we can explore how culture, relationships, community, and larger systems may influence the way you see yourself and move through the world. My goal is to create a space where you never feel that important parts of who you are have to be pushed aside.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Sometimes our thoughts can pull us into the past or keep us worried about what may happen next. I use mindfulness to help you slow down, reconnect with the present moment, and notice your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately judging or trying to change them. This may include simple breathing, grounding, or awareness practices that we can use together in session. Over time, these tools can help you feel more connected to yourself and more intentional in how you respond to difficult emotions and experiences.
