My name is Kyle and I am an LPC with years of experience in acute settings. I have primarily worked in Partial Hospital Programs with children and adolescents. I specialize in working with teens and young adults. I have a very straight forward approach accompanied with compassion and empathy. My primary focus is helping my clients get the most out of their overall treatment.
Every client is different, so every session is different. During the first session, we will discuss the things that brought the client to therapy, what they are trying to work on, and let the client ask any questions they may have for me. I try to approach is very light and relaxed as most client's are nervous during their first session.
My ability to build a therapeutic relationship with a client. I can then use that rapport in all other aspects of treatment, including being able to say the things the client may not want to hear, but is ready to hear.
CBT helps client understand how their thoughts, emotions, and actions are all connected. This modality is effective in processing cognitive distortions one may have about themselves, and helping to find the root of the issue.
Motivational Interviewing helps build rapport and helps support the overall treatment process.
Similiar to CBT, this approach is more based on processing trauma.
