I specialize in working with trauma, specifically sexual abuse, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, relationship issues, parenting, and parental abuse and neglect. I use Mindfulness and Trauma Focused CBT. In session I focus on assisting individuals in reconnecting with their mind and body in safe ways, building coping skills, discussing what happened, and finally moving forward with peace and self-empowerment.
Our first sessions will focus on building rapport, collecting information about your life and what you have been going through, and establishing goals.
My treatment methods include mindfulness tools to connect with the body, cbt tools to connect with the mind, socratric questioning to increase self awareness, and attachment theory. I also dive into the past to understand how the past affects the present, and finally narrative therapy to make sense of your story and gain your power back by speaking your truth.
My biggest strength is advocacy and empowering the client. I truly believe in the therapeutic process and in the clients ability to find peace. And if you come to therapy believing this and believing in yourself then you are already halfway there!
