I am so glad you are considering therapy. Your job as a client is to feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported while sharing the vulnerabilities of life. My job is to offer those things. Let me handle the rest! I have worked with various populations and have an extensive background working with issues including: depression, anxiety, family issues. Together, we will address what is bringing you to therapy at this time. We will talk about things at your own pace and will develop a plan together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, I will review a brief intake with you, learn about you, your past mental health treatment, and allow for time to address any questions or concerns about therapy! I will ask you what types of goals you have, and what you would like to address during our initial sessions together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an individual that enjoys humor, there is so much power in laughter (when appropriate of course!) I pride myself in being empathetic, caring, a good listener, and I love helping to solve problems and finding solutions!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with the young adult population as well as folks in life transitions. Being a young adult is much more complicated these days- balancing school, work, career, family, bills....the list goes on and on! I also have experience working with new mothers, during and after pregnancy. Becoming a parent is such an incredibly difficult job, lets work together to develop healthy strategies!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an amazing and adaptive method of therapy. It helps us look close at the links between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT can be used in a variety of situations and with many cognitive distortions to help with anxiety, depression, and general life stress.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic is used to help explore unconcious thought processes and past experiences which can help us understand our current behaviors and emotional difficulties. This type of therapy is very helpful to gain self-awareness and to maximize long-term change. In a Psychodynamic setting, I will let you direct the session (free association) and we will explore past experiences and explore patterns of emotions.

Psychoeducation

I utilize Psychoeducation frequently and as needed in sessions. This type of therapy helps break down what exactly behavioral health conditions are, how they are treated, and how to manage symptoms. This will empower individuals to make the best treatment decisions for themselves.
