Hi , I am Camilla Black, I am originally from New Jersey, mother of 3 and 1 adorable grand-daughter. I have a Masters degree in Counselor Education & Student Development from North Carolina State University. I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have worked in Human Services for over 20 years and I am passionate about helping others become their best selves. I have wanted to become a Counselor since I was in 8th grade. I have been fortunate enough to have a great counselor in college who took the time to really get to know me with all my strengths and flaws. He believed in me until I believed in myself and this helped me to push past my challenges without feeling like I had to be perfect. This is the counselor I strive to become everyday by helping you achieve your goals without judgement.

First session

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss specific challenges you're facing. We will discuss if I am the best person to help you with your needs during our consultation. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use this treatment as a method of having the Client focusing in on the problem and work together to process the solution.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize this treatment frequently to help clients change their negative thoughts so that they can change their emotions and behavior. CBT is one of the most effective evidence based therapeutic modalities and can be applied to many different mental health conditions.
