Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, LCMHC based in North Carolina. I received my Masters from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and have been practicing for 7 years serving adolescents, adults, and families. I help individuals to gain the tools needed to reduce life stressors and achieve their full potential by utilizing coping stragies gained in therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and rapport building, then explore specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals who may have experienced traumatic events, I've developed the ability to identify the root cause of challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT which integrates behavioral theories and cognitive theories conclude that the way an individual perceives a situation determines their reaction more than the actual reality of the situation does. When an individual is distressed or discouraged, his or her view of an experience may not be realistic. I assist individuals in gaining to toos to change the way individuals think and see the world can change their responses to circumstances. CBT often targets cognitive distortions, or irrational patterns of thought that can negatively affect behavior. Common cognitive distortions include all-or-nothing thinking (seeing everything in black-and-white terms and ignoring nuance), catastrophizing (always assuming the worst will happen), and personalization (believing that the individual is responsible for everything that happens around them, whether good or bad).

Integrative

I utilize Integrative therapy which is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual client. As an integrative therapist I modify standard treatments to fill in development gaps that affect each client in different ways. I combine elements drawn from different schools of psychological theory; integrative therapy becomes a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment than more traditional, singular forms of therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize Person-Centered approach for individuals who seek to gain more self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity or authenticity, greater success in establishing interpersonal relationships, and more trust in their own decisions. Person-centered therapy employs a non-authoritative approach that allows individuals to take more of a lead in sessions such that, in the process, they discover their own solutions.
