Dr. Krystal Bowen
I'm a Licensed Psychologist based in California. I received a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and my doctorate from Alliant University. I have a specialty in forensic psychology and have been practicing for 5 years in the field. I help young adults and adults struggling with life transitions, grief, psychosis, criminal behavior, interpersonal concerns and relationship concerns.
First session
Our first session will consist of introductions, reviewing consents, discussion around treatment, what treatment will look like, reasons for therapy, and deciding if we are a good fit to work together. I do believe the best therapy happens when the Client and Therapist can connect and build an alliance together. Clients have the option to decide if the Therapist is a good fit for them.
Strengths
My greatest strength is the reflective and introspective work I provide that guide and motivate the patient to see the changes they desire in their personal life.
Ideal clients
-I have experience working with a diverse population from various cultural backgrounds, with a specialty in BIPOC population. - I provide consultation for caregivers/ family members who need insight and understanding around mental health concerns. - I provide individual psychotherapy and family therapy as needed - I work with adolescents from 17-18 years old. -I have a specialty working with individuals involved with the criminal/juvenile justice system - My work is reflective and introspective, I will guide clients to explore their internal thoughts and feelings to reach the goal they desire.
