Hey there, my name is Amelia, By taking a compassionate and warm approach, I help my clients heal from the past and make meaningful change in the present. My priority is to build authentic, honest relationships with my clients. Through building a trusting relationship, my hope is that you feel comfortable to explore your emotions and unpack past experiences that may be hindering you in your present life. I believe therapy should be engaging, supportive, and responsive.
Through working together, I help my clients understand their story, gain freedom from their past, and move toward a more fulfilling life. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and I am here to listen, help foster personal growth and alleviate suffering. You can expect me to be warm and kind, but also extremely intentional in learning about your life. I approach every session with open-mindedness and curiosity, asking lots of questions and listening intently to make sure I can provide the best recommendations possible. Most clients report learning something new about themselves or their relationship within the first session.
I strive to help people cultivate courage and self-empowerment in the midst of an unpredictable world. We cannot control the challenges that we face, but we can control how we process our pain and tap into our own resilience.
If you find yourself stuck, lost, scattered, and maybe hopeless. Your problems don't need to define your whole life. You can find peace, clarity, hope, courage, and freedom. I'd love to be part of that process with you. In my sessions my goal is to help you feel safe to laugh, cry, scream, and all the things in between. Starting your therapeutic journey can be hard and scary, but you will never be alone in the process. Psychotherapy isn't always easy but the therapeutic process allows many rich opportunities for personal growth. There is hope, and therapy can help.

Depending on what someone is going through and their specific goals, I use ACT specifically to help a person accept their thoughts and feelings rather than eliminate them. This encourages a person to value acceptance and the importance of living in line with their values. ACT helps a person identify those values and commit to actions that align with those values, even in the prescence of difficult thoughts or emotions.
CBT is goal-oriented therapy, which is a good fit for every person. No matter what they're going through. I love using CBT to help identify a negative thought pattern and change that thought pattern and behavior that can contribute to emotional distress. CBT helps to challenge and reframe negative beliefs and develop more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving.
I like to incorporate Mindfulness Based Therapy into my practice. It is a therapeutic approach that brings in mindfulness practices such as meditation, breathing exercises, and self-awareness techniques to help individuals become more present in the moment and develop a non-judgemental awareness of their thoughts. emotions, and sensations.
Emphasis on identifying and building upon the strengths and positive qualities of the client. This approach helps to see people as inherently capable individuals who have the capacity to overcome challenges and improve their lives. By using this approach, we will as a team identify strengths, values, skills, and resources to develop strategies for positive change and work towards achieving your desired outcome.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment is a goal oriented and future focused therapy approach that aims to help clients identify and work towards solutions rather than focusing on problems. We will envision your desired future and identify what is already working well and develop specific actionable steps to move closer to your goals.

Amelia is incredible. She is very knowledgeable and has great insight into the things that I’m telling her and the situations I’m trying to grow beyond. I would recommend her to everyone!

I had never been to therapy before, but from the first session, she made me feel completely safe and comfortable. She is warm, intuitive, and incredibly empowering. I can be honest and take accountability without ever feeling judged or ashamed. She understands my comfort level and uses it to suggest meaningful, practical work that challenges me while still feeling safe and manageable.

Amelia was our couple's therapist. She always listened and responded in a way where you knew you were understood and then you were given solutions. She did not seem to have any favoritism towards either one of us, which has been surprisingly hard to find in a couple's therapist. She was always professional, her video was high quality, and she was extremely accepting of whatever you came to her with. Every session felt very productive and focused.
