Elizabeth Suzio
For 7 years I have provided clinical services in a variety of settings, including residential programs, inpatient units, correctional and outpatient settings. I have a passion for working with youth, teens and young adults navigating life experiences, transitions, relationship issues, with a focus on managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma or stressor related disorders.
First session
After a first session, I hope a client feels comfortable, understood, and motivated to engage moving forward.
Strengths
I bring patience and a genuine curiosity about each client's experience to my sessions. I have worked hard to create space where clients feel comfortable being honest without feeling judged, meeting each client where they are in their journey.
Ideal clients
An ideal client is someone who may be struggling with relationship issues, life transitions, symptoms of anxiety, or depression. I will always meet a client where they are, but an ideal client is willing and open to engage in treatment, with an open mindset, understanding therapy may not be easy. Goals may include reducing symptoms, while identifying new or improved ways to manage or cope.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In CBT, we'll get curious about thoughts and look at whether there is another way to see a situation. The goal is not to force positive thinking, it's to find ways of thinking and responding that are more helpful to you.
