Hi, I’m Sarah! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping people find self-understanding, build meaningful relationships, and grow through life's big changes. I most commonly treat anxiety, depression, relational distress, and difficulty adjusting to new life circumstances. I especially enjoy working with adults in their 20's and 30's. I look forward to getting to know you and working alongside you in this process!
During the first session we will review some of your current symptoms and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. I love to use the first session to learn some background history and get a sense of what makes you, you. We will also discuss your previous therapy experience (what worked and what didn't work) and identify some collaborative treatment goals to make sure you get exactly what you're looking for from our work together!
Some of my strengths include being kind, understanding, and encouraging.
I am particularly focused on helping adults in their 20's and 30's. Clients with anxiety, depression, OCD, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, or relationship distress might be a good fit.
I was specifically trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my Master's program and love to incorporate some of these theories and interventions into my practice today! We will most likely use CBT to evaluate errors in thinking, get a better understanding of your belief systems, and create more realistic (and kinder) expectations for yourself.
