New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience. I’m also trained in EMDR, DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Family Systems work. But honestly? What matters more than any credential is this: I genuinely love my clients, and I will show up for you every single time. I’m direct, but I lead with warmth. I’ll laugh with you when something is funny and sit with you when it’s not. I use creative tools like life mapping to help you see your own story from a new angle, and I’ll always adapt my approach to meet you exactly where you are. No scripts. No one-size-fits-all. Just real, consistent, and thoughtful support.
Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating, but your first session with me is really just a conversation. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We'll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of the process, and any questions or concerns you may have. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood from the very beginning. You can expect warmth, curiosity, laughs when appropriate, and honest conversation. Most importantly, we'll start building a foundation of trust and collaboration so that therapy feels like a place where you can show up exactly as you are.
One of the biggest strengths I bring to therapy is that I truly connect with people. I care a lot about my clients, and I genuinely feel honored to be part of their process, especially during some of the hardest and most meaningful moments in their lives. I want clients to feel safe, understood, and accepted exactly as they are, without judgment. I bring a lot of compassion and support into the room, but I’m also direct when it’s helpful and needed. I think therapy works best when it feels warm, honest, and real. My clients often appreciate that I’m approachable and down-to-earth, and that I’m right there with them as they work through challenges, celebrate progress, and figure out what they want for themselves.
My ideal client is someone who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or carrying burdens they've had to manage largely on their own, but who is willing to work toward creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one, taking care of others, or pushing through difficult experiences without much support. I strive to create a compassionate, supportive space where clients can feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves, while also being challenged to grow. I believe meaningful change happens when there is both trust and accountability, and I enjoy working with individuals who are open to self-exploration, willing to do the work, and ready to create lasting change in their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps us understand the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Sometimes we develop patterns of thinking that keep us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or critical of ourselves without even realizing it. Through CBT, I help clients identify these patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to life's challenges. My goal is to provide practical tools that help clients feel more confident, empowered, and able to navigate difficult situations both inside and outside of therapy
I believe real change starts when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself and talk honestly about what’s going on. My style is compassionate, down-to-earth, and focused on creating a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and not judged. Together, we’ll work through the challenges bringing you to therapy while also recognizing your strengths and what’s already working for you. My goal is to help clients build self-awareness, manage tough emotions, improve relationships, and make meaningful changes in a way that feels collaborative, supportive, and real.
EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences that may continue to affect how you think, feel, and respond in the present. Sometimes difficult experiences can become "stuck," leaving you feeling triggered, anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. I use EMDR in a safe, supportive, and collaborative way, helping clients move beyond past experiences and create space for greater healing, resilience, and confidence in their daily lives.
DBT is a very practical, skills-based approach that can be incredibly helpful for people who feel overwhelmed by big emotions, have a hard time in relationships, or get stuck in patterns that keep causing stress. I use DBT to help clients build tools for managing emotions, getting through difficult moments, staying grounded, and communicating more effectively. It can be especially helpful for adolescents and young adults who are learning how to navigate relationships, life changes, and growing responsibilities, while also giving them skills they can carry with them outside of therapy.
I use Motivational Interviewing to meet clients where they are and help them explore change in a supportive, nonjudgmental way. Whether someone is questioning their substance use, feeling unsure about making a change, just beginning to recognize a problem, or has been in recovery for years, I work alongside them at their own pace. With extensive experience supporting individuals struggling with addiction, I help clients identify what is getting in the way, strengthen their motivation, and build confidence in their ability to move forward. My goal is to help clients discover their own reasons for change and take meaningful steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
