Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. My background helps me approach therapy with openness, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

You may have spent years trying to stay strong for everyone else while quietly struggling on your own. If so, you are not alone. I offer a warm and supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through without fear of judgment. With nearly 70 years of experience, I understand how deeply emotional pain, relationship struggles, family stress, loss, and life transitions can affect people. I have extensive experience working with young people facing challenges such as self-harming behaviors, trauma, addictions, and family conflict. I have worked successfully with adults navigating substance use concerns, chronic pain and other health difficulties, caregiver burnout, grief, various forms of loss, and major life transitions. I am able to support families with young children who are experiencing developmental difficulties, health challenges, or acting-out behaviors and I provide pre-marital counseling for couples who are about to tie the knot. Throughout our work together, I strive to help clients build greater self-awareness, strengthen relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward a greater sense of balance, connection, and emotional well-being. I tend to thrive in crisis. Ideal with the toughest cases of trauma, shootings, cults abductions, and domestic violence. I have been able to help so many veterans as well over the past 12+ years in my positions with US Service Animals, Simple, Practice, Grow Therapy and other telehealth platforms. I was an early adopter of telehealth and I have seen it. Make such a difference for so many people because of the comfort that is brought by being able to open up in an environment you know is safe, your own home/space. I take a solutions focused and a client centered approach. I am also insight oriented. I have a lot of insight when it comes to dealing with physical pain and disabilities as I have a visual disability since very young and suffered a TBI at age 24. I like to focus on what issues you are having and come up with coping mechanisms that will work for you. Dealing with the struggles I have had throughout my life has helped me work with people and develop creative and effective coping mechanisms for their specific issues. I have now lived and worked in several states with varying cultures and have benefited from all of these experiences.
